There is one thing we know for sure: The AFC North is the Bengals. That’s clear. No debate. The division winner is guaranteed a playoff spot, so the Bengals are guaranteed to make the playoffs. That’s amazing. But the most exciting thing to me is seeing teams fight for a wildcard spot. Seeing teams fight every game knowing that this may be their last chance. Last night, two teams, both from the AFC North, realized that same thing.
The Browns and the Steelers put on a show. In what could have been a GOTW, the Steelers fought all the way back to win the game 35-30. The Browns jumped out to a quick 21-7 lead and the game looked like it would be Browns all night. But as stated before, there is nothing like a playoff race. When backs are against the wall. When all the marbles are on the table. When the game seems over, and it’s like you embarrassed yourself, your teammates, and the fans. But then you look at the clock, and you see that there is still some more football to be played. More time to fight. Still, a chance to right your wrongs. Still, a chance to bring the victory home. Still, a chance to accomplish your dreams. The Steelers did just that.
Kenny Pickett and Najee Harris started the spark. Najee Harris ran for over 100 yards and Kenny Pickett had a near-perfect game with 3 touchdowns and no picks. But it takes a whole team to come back. The defense was huge in picking off Malik Wilis 3 times. They went into the 4th tied 21-21. The Steelers came back too far to let the game slip away winning the quarter and ultimately winning the game. They keep their playoff dream alive with the victory. A classic his dream is mine and my dream is his.
