Yes, you read that correctly. T.J. Watt is a Jaguar.

With the Steelers struggling this season (0-4), rumors spread that Watt may be moving. The 30-year-old still has a lot left in the tank. With the excellent production and community work that he has done in Pittsburgh, the Steelers decided to do right by him and send Watt to a contending team—the Jaguars.

The Jaguars would send this year’s 1st-round, next year’s 2nd, and last year’s DPOY Devin Lloyd for T.J. Watt. Devin Lloyd has taken a massive fall this season, even after winning DPOY, as rumors spread that he has lost motivation and has become cocky. The Jaguars move a poor lockerroom guy and add a beast in Watt. How far does this move put the Jaguars? Time will tell. I did get to talk to Coach Jose following this move.

AGS: So, coach, take me through getting here. We know Coach Isaiah was fired, but what influenced your decision to coach here with the Jags?

Coach: The players intrigued me. There are some superstars on this team, and since I’ve been here, we have been doing the best job of adding to that top-tier talent. Also, the defense from last year stood out. I’m a defensive-minded coach, and we’re up there regarding the best defenses in the league.

AGS: Speaking of adding top-tier talent, you guys now have TJ Watt! What do you think he will add to this team, and does this move officially make you Super Bowl contenders?

Coach: TJ needed to be in an environment around people just as talented as him. He will have a significant impact because now we have three superstars on our line, and he should wreak havoc alongside Smith and Kenny Clark. As to being contenders, we will be there once our offense catches up to our defense. We are close, though. Trust me when I say that.

AGS: The Jaguars can make some noise once again in the AFC. But as you mentioned, the offense needs work. How much time will it take for the offense to click finally? As you know, teams are scoring at an unbelievable rate.

Coach: I’ve seen nothing but improvements from week to week. We just implemented a new playbook, and the more reps we get, the better we will be. Our defense will always keep us in games, though

AGS: You currently sit at 3-1 and hold the division lead. Even with the struggling offense, you guys are killing it. How much confidence does that give you?

Coach: It makes me very confident, but we’re still hungry because we know the level we can reach.

AGS: Speaking of the level you guys can reach, this team disappointed dramatically in the playoffs. I know you were not the Head Coach, but how does seeing how quickly a team can fall change your approach to the regular season?

Coach: Any given Sunday. We have to be on our toes every day to keep that excellence. We preach to keep the main thing the main thing down here in JAX.

AGS: Last question: what is your message to the league?

Coach: My message to the league is to get us while we’re rusty because we’re coming!
