Since the Texans drafted C.J. Stroud, they have been all over the place. Well, since the Texans were the Texans they have been all over the place. Let me take you back. In season 3, the Texans started off the season slow. So slow that many teams started to sleep on them. Although out of playoff contention, the Texans ended the year with some big wins. One of those wins was beating the Cardinals. You probably don’t remember but the Cardinals were being considered one of the top teams in the league at that point. They were 9-1 so nobody expected the Texans to win. But they did. Let’s go to week 14 against the Jets. If you don’t remember the Jets were also considered one of the best teams in Season 3. After finally losing their undefeated streak, the Jets were even more locked in than before, winning three games in a row in blowout fashion. So when the two teams met in week 14, many thought the Jets would easily take care of business. Instead, it was the other way around as the Texans did whatever they wanted on offense. So even though they did not make the playoffs, many thought they would have the biggest turnaround in Season 4.

Instead, something weird went on with the Texans. They did not start off strong once again. In a tough division that proved costly. The Texans were supposed to be in the playoffs that season, but they just did not perform to expectations. Last season, the Texans controlled their destiny in terms of playoff contention. All they had to do was win their last two games. Instead, they would lose their first one against the Patriots, basically eliminating them. C.J. Stroud showed frustration on X and his teammates followed him. Not only his teammates, but the GM as well, firing the Head Coach immediately after their season ended.

The Texans hired a new Head Coach shortly after. Rumors had it that they were already in talks during the season. The Texans hope that they will be able to surround guys around C.J. Stroud to help them take it to the next level. They got a huge piece in the draft with Carnell Tate, who somehow fell all the way down to pick 13. What a QB-WR duo that will be!

The Texans know the work they have cut out for them. In one of the toughest divisions, it will be a dog fight. But the Texans know that and I believe that they will shock us this season. They have already started off strong with a win over the Chargers. We always hear about the Titans and the Colts, but I think this season we will be talking about the Texans a lot more. Go Texans!
