The Commanders offense was firing on cylinders as leading them was of course Jayden Daniels. As he was also player of the game He had 2 touchdowns and one rushing as time expired in the first half the duo of Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson Jr ran for 53 yards In the effort.Ekeler even got it going in the receiving game as he had 4 receptions for 32 yards. It was JD’s rookie partner in crime Luke Mccaffery who was dicing up this Bengals offense along with Scary Terry as Luke Mccaffery had himself a day with 6 receptions for 177 yards and a TD and Scary Terry had 8 for 105 with a TD as well.
Defensively the Commanders defense made Joe Burrow struggle. He would throw three picks and only one TD. On the ground Chase Brown only had 87 yards and Ja’Marr Chase only had three receptions for 98 yards with Tee Higgins only getting the ball twice for 56 yards. The OG Bobby Wagner, standout rookie Dominique Hampton , both had picks but the one that really hurt was from Benjamin St-Juste as he took his for 30 yards on a house call. Emmanuel Forbes also made a big play early with a forced fumble and he also lead the team in tackles.
The Commanders will look to continue to capitalise on this momentum as they travel to face the Cardinals in Week 4.
