After the heartbreaking way to lose in last weeks game, Coach Frozen made it adaman
that the performance by the secondary was not going to happen again. The team took it to heart and all rallied together and it showed in their performance against the Dolphins in which they played an almost perfect game on offense and defense. The Titans beat the Dolphins 35-29 in the blazing heat of Miami.
Will Levis almost got a perfect passer rating with 157.8 in the win with him going 10-13 for 181 yds and 2 tds. He made all the right throws including a deep bomb that was perfectly placed to the open receiver that gave them 7 points just before the end of the half to retake the lead.
This game got the rushing attack back on track with Tony Pollard leading the way with 53 yds on 17 carries, getting most of the hard yds in the win while the other rushers got to feast when the dline got exhausted. Amari Cooper scored first for the team when he rushed the ball into the endzone after tanking a big hit by the defender for 12 yds.
Amari Cooper dominated in the passing game as well as the leading receiver with 3-74 and another td to his name, this one being just before the half when he left Jalen Ramsey in the dust. Chig Okonkwo went 3-55 but had an impressive td in which he was wide open and tracked the ball perfectly to make the catch and run into the endzone untouched. Tony Pollard went 2-27 with a huge 3rd down conversion. The rookie Jaylin Noel made an impressive catch in coverage that allowed the team to get a 3rd down when they needed it the most. DJ Giddens went 1-10.
The offensive line was spectacular in keeping Levis safe, allowing 0 sacks in the game and making sure he wasn’t pressured much. could have done a better job in the rushing game since they allowed the dline of the Dolphins to get a bunch of stops.
The FA acquisition of Joe Tryon-Shoyinka has made him feast all season long and he continued it with 2 sacks in the game and 1 PBU. Myjai Sanders started off our dominant defense when he forced Tua to fumble the ball that was able to get recovered by the rookie Ashton Gillotte that led to a td.
The secondary limited the explosiveness of the Dolphins offense and Amani Hooker and Kenneth Murray were both able to get a pick against him again. Amani’s got a fg but the true stud Kenneth was able to take it 76 yds to the house which was able to keep the Titans ahead despite the Dolphins comeback.
After a tough 5 week stretch against the AFC, the team is going to be facing off against its first NFC opponent in the 49ers before they go on their bye.
