What the world! The defending champions just got another elite receiver. They have Jamar Chase. They have Tee Higgins. And following a trade earlier today, they have Amon-Ra St. Brown! Absolutely ridiculous! The Lions traded St.Brown for two 2025 first-round picks and two rookies (Roman Wilson and Tyler Nubin).
The Detroit Lions are coming off of a successful season. They made it all the way to the NFC Championship game, before falling to the Carolina Panthers. The Lions will no doubt continue to make noise, and believe it or not, this trade was a part of their step to that Super Bowl trophy. St. Brown is in the last year of his contract, so the Lions had a decision to make. Pay the superstar and hinder the chance to go out and get other big names or trade St.Brown and get some valuable pieces out of that trade. Two first-round picks is huge, and by the way Hendon Hooker has taken off, those two rookies may become game-changers for them.
But let’s be honest here. The true winner is the Bengals. Joe Shiesty gets another trustworthy receiver ,and by the looks of it, the Bengals will be right back in the Super Bowl this year. The Bengals were not satisfied with the championship last year. No, they want another one. And another one. This move right here will significantly increase their chances of becoming the first team to 2peat since the Patriots in 2004-2005.
