OH MY GOODNESS. Immediately after he was traded to the Colts from the Cowboys, Ceedee Lamb was rumored to be unhappy. Trade rumors started to spread, but it looked like the Colts would be keeping him for the remainder of the season.

Meanwhile, the Bears shocked the league last season when they traded a buttload of picks to get Micah Parsons from the Cowboys. From many peoples’ eyes Micah was untouchable and even mentioning his name in a trade would have been laughed at. However, the Bears shocked the league at midnight by announcing that they were looking for a Micah Parsons offer. Micah Parsons’ agent said that the Bears were looking for a similar deal that it took to get him.

The Colts just came off a loss to the 49ers. A loss right after the Colts said that they feel that there are only a few teams (Chiefs, Titans) on their level. The memes were rolling in. But while they were rolling in, the Colts were on the phone with the Bears. Inside sources are telling me that the Colts did not expect much from the call but wanted to try. As the saying goes, scared money don’t make no money. In the end, the Colts decided to send the 2026 2nd-round pick, rounds 1-3 in the 2027 draft, the 2028 2nd-round pick, Kwity Paye, and Ceedee Lamb for Micah Parsons.

For the Bears, this trade just shows how great they are at team building. Not only do they get picks for the future, but they get superstar talent in Paye and Lamb. The duo of Xavier Worthy and Ceedee Lamb has to be one of the best wide receiver duos in the league. Adding Paye to that defensive line gives the Bears another player who can generate real pressure. Let’s not forget, that the championship window may be closing in Indi as Anthony Richardson’s rookie contract is almost up. The best time to win a championship would have been on his rookie contract because the Colts had money to give. Later down the line, this move could look really bad for the Colts while giving the Bears great picks in the draft.

For the Colts, this trade shows their win-now mindset. Adding Micah Parsons to the defensive line will put pressure on offenses. The Colts were fine sending away Kwity Paye because they stole Mazi Smith from the Cowboys in the Ceedee trade. A defensive line of Parsons, Mazi Smith, Khalil Mack (trade week 18), and Myles Garrett is a scary site. Speaking of Ceedee, it never worked out. Specifically targeting a receiver is not AR’s style and the frustration from Ceedee was well known because of it. As for the draft picks, the Colts knew that to get a player like Parsons they would have to sacrifice a lot of draft picks.

Only time will tell how this trade impacts both teams. In my opinion, the Colts are legit championship contenders now while the Bears might have the brightest future in the league.
