For the 49ers, this move may surprise some. But context is needed. Brock Purdy has been on a tear this season. He leads the league in passing yards with 2888 and has 24 touchdowns. Although it may sound crazy, they will not miss a beat without McCaffrey. Brock Purdy just put up 255 yards and 3 touchdowns this week in a blowout win against the Bills. They will be more than fine. Plus they have Elijah Mitchell, who just went for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Bills. So if you are a 49ers fan, you should be happy with this trade. You move on from a guy you didn’t really need and you get two great picks this year.
