Before we talk about this trade, we have some breaking news. The Seahawks Head Coach has resigned. Rumors are swirling that he was not happy with management of the Seahawks, and stepped down. I do not know if this is because of this trade, as rumors has it that he was very close friends with Devon Witherspoon. All I know is I got inside information that he has stepped down. Both the GM and Head Coach have agreed to terminate the contract. But on to the trade:
The Dolphins sent their 2025 1st-round pick and Jaylen Waddle for Devon Witherspoon and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. I actually like this trade for both teams. For the Dolphins, they get two young talents. And talent may not even be the word to use. Two young SuperStars. For a team that needs to win ASAP with the roster they have, this move can help them win now while also helping them in the future.
For the Seahawks, they get another great receiver in Waddle. I can only imagine if they had DK. That would have been a crazy duo. The Seahawks also get the Dolphins pick, which so far looks like it will at least be in the top 8. I see this trade as a win-win for both teams, but only time will tell. With the Seahawks GM currently looking for a new head coach, it will be interesting to see how he can put Waddle in the best position to succeed.
