Since the Harbaughs, we have not seen two brothers coach against each other. And what a matchup that was. Today, we will see two brothers on opposite sidelines once again. The (1-2) New York Jets will host the (1-2) Los Angeles Chargers.

We all know Coach Jalen of the New York Jets. He has helped this franchise reach new heights. Although some may criticize how the Jets have fallen short in the playoffs, let’s remember that before he arrived they had a long history of not making it. Coach Jalen will look to help the Jets reach .500 today. The Jets have started the season slow losing their first two games. They would get in the win column last week against the Patriots. So far, they are not leading in their division, which has been theirs since he arrived. And looking at their record, it is one of the toughest in the league, so this game is so important. A loss here, and I am not so sure the Jets will be able to make the playoffs. Hot take? I’m just saying we know how important momentum is. And since their loss in the playoffs last season, they don’t look like they believe. This game is so much more than a brother vs brother matchup for the Jets. Rumors are swirling that the Jets plan on blowing the team up if this season is a failure. The Jets organization has been proud of Coach Jalen but also wants more out of them. That being said, I honestly think Coach Jalen’s legacy may be on the line here. Not specifically this game of course, but in general. Will the Jets finally wake up and win some big games? Or have they already peaked?

On the other side, we have Coach Ee3zus. Toward the end of last season, the Chargers allowed him to be the interim Coach after they fired their old one. And after a huge game against the Chiefs, that showed that he could help this team compete, the Chargers would announce him as their official Head Coach. And although they didn’t squeeze in the playoffs, many felt that the Chargers would take the next step this season. And so far, it hasn’t been the best, but it also has not been the worse. They would lose last week to the Chiefs in a huge divisional game. Looking at their schedule, they play some tough teams down the road too. We talked about how much potential they had last season, but it is time for them to unleash it now. No time to wait. The Chargers brought Coach Ee3zus here to win and today, at 4 EST, they must get a win. Yes, must. This AFC is wild. The AFC West may be the wildest. The Broncos are 3-1. The Chiefs are 3-1. And again the Chargers are 1-2. If you’re not picking up what I’m putting down, a loss here and I will be on the verge of calling it a season. It is hard for three teams in one division to make the playoffs, and I don’t see it happening this season. So in this matchup against the Jets, I expect Coach Ee3zus to show us why he belongs.

The matchup is set. One of these teams will gain some huge momentum to finish out the season strong after a slow start. For the other team, although it’s early, may continue their downfall outside of the playoff race. Who will be outcoached? And who will have bragging rights at Thanksgiving dinner?
